DEPARTMENT OF NEPHROLOGY

The mission of the Department is to improve the chronic support of diabetic patients with end stage renal disease providing a complete range of consultative, diagnostic and treatment services.

The scope of care encompasses all stages of kidney disease, from earliest detectable changes in kidney function through end-stage kidney disease.

 In treatment of hypercholesterolemia we take advantage of the heparin-mediated extracorporeal low-density lipoprotein (LDL) precipitation (H.E.L.P.) apheresis.
